Ah, David please don't joke like that, the question is rather serious from Melanie's point...(But it WAS fun!) This may also sound like a joke, but it is not ; When I was a kid and we got dents in the moped tanks (happened rather frequently) we filled the tank with dried peas, then put in water and tightened the cap. Then we sat waiting for the dent to pop up. Took hours, of course, sometimes we had to add more water. The thing is, the peas swell and will press out the dent, if it is not too deep. One thing to remember is to take out the peas before they brake your tank into two pieces, which happened to my neighbour. But I suppose the tank weld was not of very high quality... This is the only way I can think of to get the dent out without ruining the paint.
Good luck ! Peter
